Adorn
Welcome to our latest blog entry 👋🏾. We still haven't come up with a cute, snazzy name for it. If you have any ideas, please leave them in the comments below.
As with our previous blog entries, we are going to talk about our experiences as a one-woman owned and operated business. We keep it honest and open, so it's only fitting that we keep the blog entries based on what we know -- we can't just write about random topics that we have no knowledge of or experience with. Wouldn't you agree?
Over the past month or so, I've been really drawn to making necklaces. There is a certain level of freedom that I feel when making necklaces. To start - I want to create more pieces that are bold and make a statement. I tend to use the word "obnoxious" when I describe what I want to make. LOL. It's not meant to be a negative - it's actually how I describe big, bold, eye-catching, unique, dramatic, and visually stimulating in one word. I made a good amount of necklaces and then, I did nothing! I started to overthink - how I should release them, when should I release them, should I even release them??? As much as I love what I do, there's always an element of self-doubt. Even though people give me compliments about my work and I accept them, there comes a time when I start to wonder - do they really like it or are they just trying to make feel good. It's an ongoing battle that I have to fight and overcome.
Last week, I went to Da Spot to shoot some content with Doer Productions. I decided to take all of the necklaces with me so that I could get some content with them. The "team," as I'll lovingly refer to them, had nothing but good things to say about the necklaces. They even put on a few of the pieces and wore them around. Michelle went live during the shoot and showed some of the necklaces. Those reactions were also very positive.
Being in that moment, receiving the compliments and having positivity poured into me, inspired me to add the necklaces to the website. I chose to block out the self-doubt and embrace self-confidence. The new necklaces are all in the "Adorn" collection. Go ahead and check them out. If you see something you like, you know what to do 😉.
