The Afro Luxe Collection originated from my love for and appreciation of the beauty and craftsmanship of African recycled glass beads, and my desire to bring them to the luxury sphere. We have been conditioned to look at luxury solely through a Eurocentric lens, but I want to challenge that. Luxury doesn't have to be exclusive, cost-prohibitive, and trend-centered. I'm working to show that luxury can encompass culture, heritage, and intention.
To me, Afro Luxe is rooted in the richness of African and African diasporic traditions. This is seen in the use of bold colors, textures, and patterns in the beads that hold history. Afro Luxe honors the story of African recycled glass beads and complements them with the use of freshwater pearls and semiprecious gemstones. The combination of which creates something both elevated and deeply personal. It is redefining what "refined" looks like by centering authenticity, not conformity.
